Ep. 67: The Courage To Achieve | with Alexander Hannett

the daily helping podcast Sep 09, 2018

Alexander Hannett is the founder of the courage institute, and his story is really quite remarkable. He has overcome tourettes syndrome, bipolar disorder, and post traumatic stress disorder.

Despite his setbacks, he’s done some phenomenal things, such as raising millions of dollars for disability sports, Paralympics, and the Wounded Warrior Project.

He is also a four-time Marquam Award winner, which recognizes excellence in marketing and communications, and he’s been featured in the Miami Herald, The Wall Street Journal, Yahoo News, and The Washington Post.

We are honored to have him here with us today. Join us as we hear more about his story.

“I felt so determined, because everybody said I couldn’t do it. At that moment, a lightbulb came on.”

Alexander has lived an incredible story, and by sharing it with us he inspires us to follow in his footsteps. Alexander wants you to know:

  • Focus on building courage and confidence within yourself so that you can create the change needed in your life to overcome your fears, realize your potential, and achieve your dreams.
  • Where you are today doesn’t have to be what you accept for yourself for your future.
  • No matter where you are right now – academically, financially, socially – you are absolutely deserving and capable of attaining every single one of your dreams.

The Biggest Helping: Today’s Most Important Takeaway

“People who are different, whether it be mental illness, or an inability to communicate – we’re people too, and we have feelings. Many times, the people who are different are the ones who will have the courage later in life to make change in the world.”
